Yayy! I still cannot believe I finally got a laser cutting machine and it’s not just any machine.. it’s the Glowforge Aura— the 1st ever craft laser ahhh :) So.. I thought it would be fun to create a video where I share some behind the scenes from brainstorming, sketching and finalizing my designs, creating SVG files, using the Glowforge app— basically my entire process from start to finish. In this video, I also created multiple Fall-themed projects like place cards, coasters, banners and notebooks! 🍂🍁

Also sharing some tips and my fave tools when creating projects using the Glowforge Aura :)

Tip 1 - I love starting my brainstorming/sketching process in my journal.

Tip 2 - Then I’ll finalize my designs using the vector brushes inside the Adobe Fresco App on my iPad.

Tip 3 - Afterwards, I’ll export my file and open it up in Adobe Illustrator to edit/add additional illustrations and then I’ll export my designs in SVG format.

Tip 4 - When I upload my designs to the Glowforge App, I like to ungroup everything and then I’ll rearrange my designs to save as much wood as possible hehe.

Tip 5 - I love using the Glowforge Aura’s camera! It’s been super helpful to visually see everything and I love using it when creating my notebooks. It also makes it super simple to identify Glowforge’s Proofgrade materials which preload the settings for cutting, engraving, and printing!

I’ll use it to create the binding holes in order to make sure everything lines up :)

Tip 6 - To add a pop of color to my wood creations, I like using POSCA paint markers!
